The Nairobi County Chess Association (NCCA) is the official body mandated to promote, organize, and grow chess within Nairobi County. As an affiliate of the Chess Kenya Federation, we are committed to fostering a vibrant chess community that nurtures talent and supports grassroots development.

Established in 2023 per Kenya's Sports Act 2013, which mandates decentralization to promote grassroots talent, NCCA brings chess closer to local communities. Following our formation, we held democratic elections to appoint a dedicated leadership team, ensuring transparent governance.

A Journey of Growth and Decentralization
2023: Inaugural Elections
Democratic elections were held to form a leadership team dedicated to transparency and community engagement.
2024: First Major Events
Hosted the Nairobi County Youth & Cadets Championship and Rapids Chess League, engaging hundreds of players.
2025: Community Expansion
Partnered with schools and clubs to expand chess programs, reaching over 1,700 members.
